TASK 1
Before learning a bit about puppet making from recycled materials or other materials we can have on hand in the class and before setting up the different types we can do, we want you to have a look to the following examples to get inspired. Observe these ingenious and simple ideas.
Half of the following pictures are part of last year works.
At the end of this first task you have a classification of different types of puppets you can create. So, please, before starting, analyse and observe them.
On the same sheet you have put your company name, write the materials for at least three puppets (choosing between the following ones) and tell what they are going to be used for.

EXAMPLES OF LAST YEAR WORKS
TYPES OF PUPPETS
ROD PUPPETS. The movement of the puppet is possible due to its movable limbs and some rods moving them from down.
HAND PUPPET OR GLOVE PUPPET. They are controlled by one hand, which occupies the interior of the puppet.
MAROTTE. It is a puppet whose hands are the puppeteer(s)'s hands.
BODY PUPPET. Different parts of the puppeteer's body are used as character's body.
MARIONETTES OR "STRING PUPPETS". They are suspended by a number of strings, plus sometimes a central rod attached to a control bar held from above by the puppeteer. They are probably the most difficult puppets to build as they require a correct balance and an appropriate distribution of weights to get different movements and an accurate manipulation.
FLAT PUPPET. They are usually figures made by cutting wood, cardboard, tissues and they are manipulated from down with a rod.
Remember: after (not before) having a look at these images, you have to write in the sheet the description of materials of three puppets you have seen here and what they are used for. This is the end of TASK 1.
TASK 2
Once you have the lyrics of the song or the tale, you have to set the different characters you are going to create, the main ones as well as the secondary ones. You have to think about an scenography and ambience to surround the puppets. Every member of the team would take notes and would do sketches on sheets.
You have to write down everything on the sheet and now you have to take a picture and upload it to Google Classroom (each member of the team).

We will also provide other specific materials in the art classes, such as poster board, different papers, glue, ropes, etc.

To recreate an atmosphere with different elements related to the story or the lyrics of the song would help enriching the show you are designing in each team. You can also take part of this scenography.
TASK 5
Remember to give one of the teachers the registration form and to send a picture to Google Classroom.
